The Benefits of Membership
Membership of the club is £14.00 per year for a Single Membership or £21 per year for joint membership.
By becoming a member you will enjoy the following benefits:-
· You will meet like-minded people in a friendly, social environment.
· You will keep you up to date with current thinking and research.
· You will receive a regular newsletter, sent to your home. This will include articles and pictures of interest, information about the club and details of future events.
· You will be invited to “members only” events.
The annual Social Lunch is usually held in January. This has in the past been held at a committee member's house where food is served on a selected period/theme or at a local venue. If held at a Committee Members home, the cooks research old recipe books and prepare and cook the period food for the event. Previous lunches have included Medieval, Victorian, War time and Georgian, amongst many others! Members can also bring along items of interest on the selected period and usually listen to some live music.
In the summertime there are a couple of field trips to local places of interest.
· You will have the opportunity to become involved in fieldwork. We have a small Inventory Group, where members are transcribing inventories from the South Elmham Parishes. Over 100 have been transcribed to date. Other Members' interests include documentary research, field walking, house history, resistivity surveying and hedge dating to name but a few.
